Awami National Party (ANP) and other progressive parties in Pakistan have the right to be congratulated on their victory in Northern, Southern Pashtunkhwa and Sind. We appreciate the hard work of new leadership in all provinces under the central president of ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan and provincial president Afrasiab Khattak despite life threats from the state.
Pashtuns know that the Pakistani establishment were trying to portray Pashtun as terrorist and extremist before the election to the world. But Pashtuns have proved that they are not extremist and terrorist. They are the followers of Bacha Khan and his philosophy of non-violence. They want lasting peace on their mother land. We are of the view that ANP should work on important issue like peace and security beside working for the development of area, education and other basic necessities of the people.
The ANP relationship with the media is week week. They need a strong media cell to highlight the success of the Party not only in local and national media but in international media as well. Thus the Party will be able to show the world that Pashtun is a progressive and aware nation. People in the west think that the current election result will have positive effect on peace and security in the region and specially in the Pashtun areas.
Members of the Pashtun Peace Forum and the Pashtun community in Canada assure the ANP leaders and all the progressive forces in Pashtunkhawa that Pashtun Peace Forum and Pashtun community will try their best to share the massages of the people of Pashtunkhwa with the government of Canada and with the international community.
